Motion demonstrates the Asset Monitoring Gateway for remote equipment monitoring through the use of multiple sensor devices.

Industrial technology distributor Motion highlighted Banner Engineering’s Asset Monitoring Gateway at Pack Expo 2023. This product is designed to work with Banner’s Snap Signal product line and Modbus sensors. The gateway can auto-detect and commission Modbus sensors and converters, has a 4-in. touchscreen HMI with stylus, an M12 decided Ethernet connector and a 30mm red/yellow/green indicator to mirror any HMI alarm conditions for operator awareness at-a-glance.

Bryce Egelin with Motion explained that the Asset Monitoring  Gateway is designed for monitoring equipment, such as an air compressor, that can require the use of multiple different peripheral devices to determine its operational health, such as vibration, temperature or humidity sensors.

In the gateway system, Banner Engineering’s DXMR90 controller aggregates the data from multiple connections for local data processing, It also serves as system’s platform for Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) applications. The controller converts Modbus RTU and IO-Link signals to common industrial Ethernet protocols for transmission to a PLC, HMI or SCADA system or to the cloud.
